MISSION

Kehler Liddell Gallery was founded by eight artists in 2003.  Since then, the gallery has grown to represent 24 of Connecticut's highest achieving mid-career and emerging artists.  The award-winning roster works in the full range of mediia, from painting, printmaking and works on paper, to photography and sculpture.

The gallery is dedicated to representing critical perspectives that challenge and illuminate our culture and enrich our aesthetic experience.  As champions of free speech and free thought, we do no censor our artists' work or written statements.

Since our founding, Kehler Liddell Gallery is commited to establishing New Haven as an important center of arts and culture.  We seek to provide a space where artists, collectors and art enthusiasts may experience unique liberation.  Our program revels in the excitement of cross discipline collaborations -- including projects with musicians, theatre troupes, film makers, authors, dancers and creative entrepreneurs.

PROGRAM

With 2,000 square feet of open space, Kehler Liddell Gallery is divided into 2 galleries.

The Main Gallery holds our Current Exhibition, which features five week exhibitions of 2 person shows.  The shows may take two curatorial strategies: 1) weave together the work of the two artist on display, or 2) separate the work into 2 solo exhibitions.

The North Gallery, which functions as an unofficialy project room, holds 1 work by each of our gallery artists at all times.  This space represents our artists' most recent work.

The gallery hosts opening artist receptions on the Sunday following the opening day of the exhibition, from 3-6pm.  The receptions feature an Artist Talk at 3pm that is moderated by the Gallery Director.  The reception is free and open to the public.  Parking is available in a secure lot behind the gallery.

When the gallery is not throwing a Special Event, Kehler Liddell Gallery is available to rent.  In the past, Connecticut's leading arts organizations, small businesses, non-profit groups and schools have rented out the space.  If you are interested in throwing an event at Kehler Liddell Gallery, please find more information on our SPACE RENTAL page, or contact us at 203-389-9555, kehlerliddell@gmail.com.
