Edith Borax-Morrison
Edith Borax Morrison born in New York, N.Y. now living and working in Trumbull, Ct., received her Master’s degree in art from Long Island University, a teaching certificate from C.W. Post college, studied at Woodstock Guild of Craftsmen, Art Students League of N.Y. Silvermine school of art . Her one woman shows include three galleries in New York and Picture This Gallery in Westport Ct. Her work has been included in many juried shows including Art of the Northeast Silvermine Ct., Hecksher Museum, N.Y. National Art League, Douglaston N.Y. and many others. She exhibited in an invitational show at the Discovery Museum in Ct. Awards and prizes include National Competition, Purdue University (purchase prize) and Manhassat Art League, New York. Her art activities include teaching, lecturing, and demonstrating various techniques of drawing and painting.
Edith Borax Morrison’s works appear in numerous collections including Purdue University, Finland’s delegate to the U.N., Beth El Synagogue, Long Beach, N.Y., and the Supervisor of The Town of Oyster Bay, N.Y. Her artworks in Acrylics, collage and pen and ink have been described as unique, on the edge of consciousness and enigmatic. She is listed in “Who’s Who in American Art “ (2003 publication) and was recently inducted into the Silvermine Guild of Artists.
